The Peterwell kennel name has been registered since the late 1960's. Best known for our line of German Shepherds, which has enjoyed great success since the early 70's. The first Afghan Hound came to Peterwell in 1999 and we are enjoying success in this breed also. Recently relocated to Somerset, we are a select show kennel, dedicated to preserving and ejoying the breeds we own.

Puppies are occasionally available to loving, permanent homes from our carefully planned litters, tending only to breed a litter when we want a puppy for ourselves. We only breed from hip scored and eye tested parents (where applicable) and look for type, balance, health and temperament in all our dogs to produce the very best we can. Thats the Peterwell philosophy - striving for excellence.

Our GSD's are proven successful in working and agility homes and also as serving police dogs. It's important to produce brains as well as beauty in a breed that's meant to work.

We're not afraid to sell our best show potential puppies to homes we believe in, where the owners can do justice by the dogs and the dogs in return bring a lot of joy to the owners. Many people have enjoyed success in the show rings with Peterwell dogs over many years. Because such emphasis is placed on temperament too, it's no wonder that pet owners of Peterwell puppies keep in touch and return to Peterwell when looking for a puppy.
